How can I find the classified ads? Do I need to pay for a subscription to search historical classified ads?

Our historical newspaper databases ~ Historical New York Times, Historical Los Angeles Times, and Historical Chicago Defender ~ include advertisements. However, for more current issues our electronic access does not include advertisements.
The library does has some print issues of the Los Angeles Times available on the first floor, near the Research Assistance Desk.
